Gill Dove Painter and Printmaker

Gill in studio 2010My work is response to the breath-taking but fragile beauty of the land; its atmosphere, rhythms and space. I create work that has, at their essence, a calmness and sense of space but also reflecting dramatic environmental changes. I use a combination of paint, photography and print to capture the striking consequence of the sea as it breaches the coastline and rivers overflow. I explore the ‘undiscovered country of the nearby’, by walking capturing the landscape as it rises from clearing mist. This intense experience becomes a captured moment, shifting the dynamic of traditional landscape painting.

Vision: Radiant Landscapes
Inspiration: Space, light and the energy of landscape
Intention: Consciously sets out to make work that allows peaceful reflection, to become part of something elemental. To reflect our fragile places that may be lost.

All works for sale. For affordable prices please contact the artist in her studio via e-mail.
